It’s hard being one of a kind

At times it can feel lonely

Sure, there are those who are similar

But still I’m the one and only.

It’s hard being unique

No one is quite like me

Yes, some may share commonalities

But they don’t feel exactly what I feel

They don’t see exactly what I see.

On the other hand, no one is like me

I was created with detail and thought

I was planned out with loving care

I am considered treasured and rare.

Need I say more?

I’m loved beyond measure

I’m the apple of His eye

Never forgotten

He even endured suffering and death for me.

It’s hard being one of a kind

It can be painful

You can be misunderstood

You can be overlooked

You can even be despised, hated and rejected.

Now I know how you feel, Lord

Now I understand why you never gave up

Not even while they scoffed and jeered

Not even to death on a cross.

Not even now, my truly unique, One of a kind Savior.

The Prophesied Savior

The Prophet, Isaiah, predicted both the coming of Jesus Christ and His crucifixion about 700 years before Jesus’ birth.  The Lord Jesus is not only our Creator (John 1:1-5Psalm 139:11-18 ), but He was also sent into the world as the only One able to bring salvation to those who would recieve Him.

Prophesy: “He was hated and rejected by people. He had much pain and suffering. People would not even look at Him. He was hated, and we didn’t even notice Him. –Isaiah 53:3

Fulfillment: “He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.” –John 1:10-11

  1. I’m glad God values us and made each of us to be unique. He has a special plan for each of us. It’s good to be different and unique. Thanks Tina.

    1. Yes! It’s so important to remember that He has a special plan for all of us. It’s so easy to compare, and feel like we’re too different from others, but he made us unique to fill that special plan for us. 😊

  2. What a beautiful poem. We are the same, but different. Life would be boring if we were all exactly the same. He loves us just the way we are. We are made for different purposes, therefore, we need to be different. But we are made in His image, so we have to be the same.

    1. So very true. 😊 ❤ It's not always easy, but you're right; it really would be boring if we were all the same, and we definitely have different purposes. We're the same, but not exactly the same. Like snowflakes. Thanks so much for your comment.

  3. Tina your poem spoke to me. I have often felt unique sometimes not in a good way. Now, I am at peace “being the apple of His eye” cherished and loved.

  4. “You can be misunderstood. You can be overlooked. You can even be despised, hated and rejected.” These words ring true. But when I feel like I don’t fit in, I try to remind myself that as a Christian it is a good thing to not fit in with this world.

    1. So true. I saw you recieved my comment on one of your videos, Bridget! It was nice to see your face and hear your voice. Now when I read your comments I can hear the way you would say what you just wrote. I think that’s pretty cool. 😊 I’m going to post one of my old videos with one of my posts soon. You are very calm and collected. 😀 I am not…lol. I am awkward, and very expressive I guess is a good way to put it. Lol.

      1. LOL. Thank you! You probably come across calmer than you think because I feel awkward but everyone says I am calm. Haha! I really don’t like doing videos, but it is a good way to force me out of my comfort zone. And since I haven’t done any in awhile, perhaps I should think about doing one of those soon! So thanks for giving me a little push, even if you didn’t mean to!! I will look forward to your video! 😊

      2. Oops! Sorry, I missed this comment! Yes, making videos is definitely a good way to break that comfort zone. My voice was so shaky in the first video I ever made, but the more I pushed myself the more I relaxed. Then it became fun. 😊 I may eventually do a video again, but I’m still working on getting back to feeling like myself. I am getting there. There was a really tough point over the last couple of years where I really didn’t feel like myself at all. That was really hard. With the Lord’s help I’m sure I am getting there though. So who knows, maybe there will be a brand new video in the future. Until then, I’ll share old material. It really helps me to remember who I am.

      3. Hehe. Yeah, Andrew still refers to you as my mini me. 😁 Well it’s good to know that there are at least a few people out there like me. It gets lonely being a one and only.

      4. I was wondering what your height was! I just made it past the 5 foot mark. I am 5′ 1 and 3/4. Yeah, I have to include the 3/4. Lol.

I love my 3 inch wedges. They make me feel almost normal. Lol. But I totally wear flats too.

      5. Lol my mom is ‘4’10” and that much!’ she tells everyone while holding up her pointer finger and thumb to show a little gap between the two!!! She always says that little bit over the 10” mark counts!!
I can’t believe you’re only an inch over 5 foot, you look taller in the pictures and videos I’ve seen❤️🙂…”they” say good things come in small packages so let’s assume “they’re” referring to us🤪

      6. That’s too funny. I say that good things come in small packages too, but so do explosives, and they can pack quite a punch. Lol. Well, guess what lady? I had no clue you were petite either. It’s because we’re also slim. It’s an optical illusion. But stand beside someone tall, and that illusion vanishes quickly. 😀
