Too Corny? Nah. 😊 I really wanted to sing 200 ears of corn on the wall, but I thought that might be too corn dog. However, the joke below is a-maize-zing. (A-maze-zing would also work.)
You may groan if you must, but it only makes me laugh more.
Awards are truly comin’ outta my ears. I recieved so many nominations for the Sunshine Blogger Award in a short period of time that it became too overwhelming to acknowledge all of them, but THANK YOU so much to all who nominated me!
That being said, I have some catching up to do! I also recieved two nominations for the Mystery Blogger Award thanks to Bridget and Vel. If you aren’t following these two check out their blogs and show them some love!

Three Things About Myself
-I took a hairdressing course, but never continued with the remaining hours that I needed to complete the training. It just wasn’t for me.
-I also took a course to become a Legal Secretary. I barely passed the final exam, and I didn’t continue with that either. I had no confidence in myself and I was stuggling with social anxiety.
-My hubby and I ran our own ceramics business for 14 years. Hey, I did something! However, we are currently both unemployed for health reasons. It’s one great adventure.
My Best Posts?
I have no idea, but here’s a sampling:
1 – What habit has helped you reach your goals?
I don’t believe that I’ve reached my goals, yet, so I continually ask Jesus’ for His help, and I’m trusting Him to get me there.
2 – Are there certain things you like to do in the morning to start your day off on the right foot?
- Writing and/or editing
- Listening to music
- Reading my Bible
- Using my S.A.D light
- And getting some fluids into me.
3 – What is your favorite book?
I rarely have one favorite of anything, so here are several favorites: Mere Christianity, The Pilgrim’s Progress, Alice in Wonderland, and The Hobbit.
4 – What is on the top of your bucket list?
Andrew and I don’t have a bucket list, per se, but we do have a couple of things that we’d love to do given the opportunity. The first of these would be a trip to Disneyland, as well as, a visit with our boys in California (er young men now) that we adopted online. Technically It was a mutual adoption.
The second thing we’d love to do is travel to the UK as Andrew has some Scottish ancestry, and I have English, Irish, and possibly Scottish roots.
5 – When you were a child, was there something you collected? Or as an adult, is there something you collect now?
As a child I enjoyed collecting rocks. I also had a coin collection. As an adult I have a tea cup and tea pot collection. Most of it was passed down from my mom. I added a few things, and I recieved some of it as gifts. Our niece and her husband bought me the Death Star teapot. (Haha) I Love it! Other than that I’m always on the look out for heart shaped rocks.
My Nominees for the Mystery Blogger Award!
Kenn is great! This busy lay pastor loves the word “Abide” for good reason (See, not everyone falls asleep in the pews. I noticed!) This partial-to-penguins pastoral poster was one of the first people to help nudge me along on my WordPress journey. I don’t think his blog gets enough notice, but it really should. You’re missing out!
I’ve only started getting to know a little more about this gem, but I’m excited to know more! Lade is a Nigerian law student, and she sure is as sweet as can be. She even made me cry a couple times. She’s very gracious and kind, and definitely an encourager! I look forward to connecting with my little sister even more!
Not only is Alicia very real and down to earth, she’s also been one of my biggest encouragers. Her posts are always so full of love and passion for her family and the Lord. I enjoy seeing all of her photos and reading about what’s going on in her world. If I had it my way, we’d be neighbors and we’d do tons of great stuff together, but since that wasn’t God’s plan, I shall be thankful that she’s a friend of my heart and continue to appreciate those smiles across the miles.
Antonia is more than just a beauty; she’s contemplative, and full of life. I haven’t been following her too long, but I can tell that she puts a lot of thought and passion into what she writes. I’m no beauty expert, so I can always use some tips on what products are worth purchasing. I also enjoyed her beautiful pics of Paris. Since I’ve never been to Paris, myself, it was like taking an adventure with her!
Vivian is one of my girls! She, like Alicia, has been a real encouragement to me. She shares all about her family, her faith, her struggles, and she gives tons of great advice and encouragement to those who have health challenges. This sweet gal also writes poetry, and shares photos of her family, which is always so nice to see. As she battles through her TBI like a hero, she inspires me to keep fighting too, so I’m so thankful that we’re in this together.
Though I don’t attend any classes, I consider myself a full time student of Christ. So Kamran’s educational advice speaks to me. I like Kamran. He’s very insightful, and his posts can be quite thought provoking and motivating. Who couldn’t use a good dose of motivation?
What can I say about Autumn!? She’s a key part of my crew. Who else is going to inspire my creative and goofy side other than this smile provoking writer and reviewer of shows that I just happen to enjoy. She’s a poet, a very creative writer, and a space girl, who has my stamp of approval—not that she needs it, but she does.
Matt is awesome! He covers a number of topics, including living with chronic illness, his experiences with refugees and immigrants and his faith in Jesus. I also recently discovered that he writes short stories! This ESL teacher is an adventurer, and from what I can tell, Matt is also a bit of a minimalist. He prefers only two colours of socks, two pairs of shoes, and microwaving everything on the popcorn setting! However, for some reason he has a problem with petite women!? (What up with that? We barely take up any space!) I jest. I’m twisting his words. However, if you’re looking for a good dose of something to warm your heart, check out Matt’s blog; it never fails to do the trick.
