[I thank my God…]
I met Ronda on a Christian networking website called Xianz. I haven’t always clicked so easily with other females (perhaps it’s because I grew up with three brothers, and I never had any children of my own), but with Ronda our friendship came very naturally. She’s been a protective and concerned big sister to me. (She’d say pushy, but I appreciate that she cares.)
It warms my heart that she treats me as a little sister, even if she does, on occasion, tell me things that I already know. (I tease!) She shares so many things that I don’t know. Plus, I’m finding that I need many reminders, nudges, and kicks in the pants this season, so I’m thankful that God uses her to speak into my life.
Ronda makes me smile just thinking about her; she listens and tries to understand what’s ailing me; she questions me and gets me thinking; she prays for me; and she cheers me on. Though I never minded not having any sisters growing up, it’s been a huge blessing to have her in my life.
This Nebraska neighbor to the southeast of us has been a real answer to prayer. I needed some strong women of faith in my life, and God’s been faithfully answering that request, not only through Ronda, but also through my beautiful sisters here on WordPress.
If it weren’t for knowing this treasured friend of my heart, I’d never have known what a big sister’s love feels like. Brothers can be wonderful, but there are times when I really need a big sis.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy” –Philippians 1:3-4
The two pics of me, below, are old (A little over a decade ago now), but yes, hearts still rain down on me! They also come out of the top of my head! 😃 The last pic (after the video) is a current pic.
Prayers go up… Love comes down. ❤
