[…with an everlasting love]

Last night I was having one of those moments when I feel totally lost, uncertain whether I’m doing anything right, buffeted by the waves and hesitant to speak (write) another word.  I was praying, “Lord, I don’t know what I’m doing…”  I was feeling pretty sunk.

There was a song that I’d heard earlier that day that I’d found soothing, so I grabbed my tablet to see if I could find it. However, when I tried to bring my YouTube app up it wouldn’t open completely.  It was just a white screen with the red play button logo.

I closed the app and tried again.  I had the same problem.  For some reason I tapped on my screen. (Impatience… wishful thinking that tapping would do the trick?) Unexpectedly a song began to play.  The screen was still white with the red play logo, but I listened not knowing what song I was hearing.

It wasn’t the song that I’d wanted to hear.  It wasn’t even a song that I knew, but it was the song that I needed to hear.  Maybe you need this reminder also.

This week hasn’t been all bad.  It started off very rough, and throughout the weak those metaphorical waves rose and fell, but it will end with thankfulness and rest.  I know that I am loved.

Praise the Lord for His everlasting love and unfailing kindness. ❤

Music that Speaks

“Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. They saw the works of the LORD, His wonderful deeds in the  deep. For He spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves. They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders.” –Psalm 107: 23-32

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. –Jeremiah 31:3

    1. That’s weird, you’re the second person to say you had trouble with the video. Modern Technology and it’s glitches… And yes it’s very cool when God does stuff like that! I guess some glitches work out for the best! That reminds me… I went to play a game and talk on Skype with a friend but a “glitch” prevented that from happening. Instead we typed back and forth which worked out because I spilled the beans about how I was feeling and was encouraged by my friend. I would have never spilled the beans on Skype. God knew what He was doing.

      1. Oh good that’s awesome, I love that!!!

I did end up listening to the song through google…what a good song, when I hear good music like that I’m like ‘I can’t believe I never knew of this song before!’

      2. Me too! I’m always checking out YouTube for musical inspiration. There are so many songs that are never played on the radio. I have a couple of new favorites. I may post some music tomorrow.

Oh, and Andrew called me out of the bedroom while I was drying my hair one day to listen to what Corey Asbury said about his Reckless Love song (Because I’d been telling him that certain songs and artists we being criticized). Andrew was in tears at Cory’s explanation. Thought you’d appreciate that because you did that post on Reckless love.

      3. Awe that’s so neat❤️…or like Lauren Daigle, I think of the post you did on her…so sad the ugly world we live in, like people just don’t get it:(

I wonder why more of those songs we see on YouTube aren’t played on Christian radio, I’ve noticed that too…you always find and post such good music!!!

      4. It IS sad. I hate to see people criticizing and pointing fingers at our musicians. They use their gifts for God. They pour out their hearts. Sometimes the words of a song can confuse me at times. I’ll have to stop and really think about it. But this can be a good thing! Sometimes it helps us to change or own way of seeing things. I love that.

Thanks for the encouragement Alicia! I love to share the music that God points me to. If it speaks to me, I’m sure it will speak just as loudly to whoever chooses to take a listen. I don’t know what I’d do without those who write music. I need that encouragement!

      5. Absolutely me too!! I’m always amazed by the words of some songs, like how much wisdom is packed within the words and then it’s like oh duh that’s God using people to point to Him
…I love how He uses us (as bloggers) too!!
