[Deep waters cannot quench love]
In the beginning He created the heavens and the earth…
He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. He does not lie. He keeps His promises. He does not change His mind. He is devoted. He’s faithful. His love never fails. He pursues us. He begins a good work and finishes what He’s started.
He drives out fear. He turns our hearts towards Him. He gives us a new heart and a new Spirit. He heals our wounds and forgives our transgressions. In Christ there is no longer any condemnation. He died so that we may live and have life to its fullest.
His love is relentless; it’s never ceasing. His love is an all consuming fire; it endures. He’s devoted to His beloved. He whispers; instructs; guides; chides; corrects; comforts; calms; reminds and encourages. He disciplines the ones He loves. He tares us down to build us up. He suffers when we suffer. He remembers us with fondness.
He takes us by the hand. He surrounds us on every side. He sings over us with gladness. He’s compassionate. He loves us as His own. We are chosen. We are the apple of His eye. He shelters us under His outstretched wing. He calms the wind and waves and pulls us up from the water. He plucks us from the flames.
When we’ve been snared, chained, caged, pulled away and are drowning, He is our rescuer. He leaves the 99 to go after the 1. He comes running and welcomes us back with open arms. In His arms there is love, peace, hope and joy. He will not leave us nor forsake us.
He’s a mighty warrior. He’s strong on our behalf. His anger last only a moment. He loved us while we were still sinners. He IS Love. He sees us as righteous and Holy. He considers us valuable.
He gives us times of refreshing. He’ll dry every tear. There will be no more pain or sorrow. His love is unquenchable, unswerving, unshakable and unstoppable.
“Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for stern as death is love, relentless as the nether world is devotion; its flames are a blazing fire. Deep waters cannot quench love, nor floods sweep it away.” Song of Solomon 8:6-7
