Why do we ever cover greys?

As if these strands are out of place

We hide behind a tinted facade

We seek acceptance

By all but God

But grey is beauty just the same

It’s grace that gives us time to change

These somber strands, with love, God weaves

Throughout our lives to bring true peace

And yet we fight life’s harrowed ways

As if these too are out of place

But God knows best and offers rest

To all who believe

To those who accept

And so I’ll never view life’s greys

As if they hold no rightly place

If not for life’s long colourless days

That contrast absent

I’d grasp not grace.
