Trek On

[Let’s make 2018 a year to say, “Uh huh!”]

Since I came across the Joshua Micah song: “Who Says,” it’s been running through my head. “Who says you’ll never feel alone in the crowd?” We know who says it–he’s the same liar who tells you that you’re different, and you don’t fit in.  He’s the same liar that makes you believe that being different is a bad thing.  He tells you that you are good for nothing, that nobody will like you, notice you, or even cares.  They are all lies.  You are good for something, you even have a purpose. People will like you, in fact they’ll love you!  You have something unique that only you can offer. You have gifts that God has given you to use, and He’ll give you more if you ask.  You are qualified for the job, because He has given you all that you need, and will give you exceedingly abundantly more.

You’ll be noticed alright. That’s why the devil lies to you.  Because God is calling you out, and the devil is saying, “oh no you don’t, you’re staying right here under my thumb. I can’t have you finding out the truth.”  Guess what?  People do care.  People like me, whose mission it is to tell you that you’re more than okay– you’re loved, and even highly favored.  You have a Father in Heaven who loves you.  As well, you have a brother and a  friend, in Jesus.  If that wasn’t enough, you have and a whole family of believers who can’t wait to welcome you into the family. You’re not alone. You’ve just been fed lies.

There will always be those people that tear others down, but that’s not where you belong, and you don’t have to listen to them either.  You can listen to what God has to say.  If the devil has convinced you that religion is just a bunch of nonsense, he’s wrong. The Bible tells us this:

“Religion that God accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:27)

God loves the orphan.  If you don’t have a parent (or parents) He’s telling You that He’s there for you, and He’s always been there for you.  You’re not alone.  He doesn’t want us to be polluted by the world because the world has been corrupted by that dirty devils lies. Those lies serve to drowned out God’s loving voice, and they serve to keep people trapped and isolated in their hurt, and their anger. There’s freedom though—there’s freedom in God’s arms, and in God’s family.  I know that this is a fact, because I’m walkin’ on sunshine, and it does feel good. (Yeah, now I have that song running through my head.)  It’s true though.  I’m never happier than when God speaks because those lies lose their grip on me, and I come more and more out of my shell.  I’m ready for this–ready for what it is God has for me to do in 2018 because I know that it’s gonna be good.

God takes care of the weak (the ones who are alone, and the ones who are hurting) and this is the only religion that He sees as pure and faultless. So if you hate religion because you’ve been hurt by it, then chances are that person, (or those people) weren’t listening to God.  They had it all wrong, and believed lies as well.

If you’re ready to say, “uh huh” to what God has to offer you– whether you’re a Christian who has run away from God, or you’ve never met Him yet–He’s waiting for you with open and loving arms.  You have family and friends that care.  You just haven’t met them yet, or allowed yourself to let them get too close to you.

If you have embraced God, and stopped listening to all of the lies, then keep turning your back to the wind (to the past as well) and enjoy the scenery as you trek through 2018.  God has good plans for you.

Have a listen to Joshua Micah. He definitely knows God. I’m happy to say that I know God too, and I wouldn’t trade Him for the world. “Uh huh!” —–>You’re Loved
