Of Autumn’s Ode

I love the sound of crispy leaves
The crunch
The crack
Beneath my feet
The sun kissed sky
And Autumn’s breeze
I love the sound of crispy leaves.

I love the hues of orange and gold
The colours bright
And brilliant
Bold
The dewy blades
Of Autumn’s Ode
I love the hues of orange and gold.

The sweet reprieve
Of Summers heat
Relents once more
At Autumn’s feet
Soon Winters song
Fixed to arrive
Its treasures still
Autumn’s alive!

I love that old, yet new, becomes
It’s ember flames
Blessed of above
The gentle hush
Of Summers bud
I love that old, yet new, becomes.

My husband’s title suggestion for this: “The Crackling” or “Cracklings”… Cute, and amusing (As is he, also.) I vetoed them both. :O I know, I’m a big meanie, I am however, giving him, and them, an honorable mention. ❤ 😛 So, that’s something, and he was pleased to hear it… So all is well.
